September 6th, 2022

Following the success of the Fun Evening in January, the Squash & Racketball Committee has decided that the next graded round robin event will take place on Friday 23rd September

All standards welcome!!

Round Robin format will provisionally be Grade A to D squash and A and B racketball. Allocation of players to appropriate grades will be dependent on entries. You do not have to be playing in the box leagues to enter, but we would roughly expect the standards to be as follows:

Grade A - Leagues 1 and 2
Grade B - Leagues 3 - 6
Grade C - Leagues 7 - 14
Grade D - 15 and below
Racketball A - Leagues 1 - 4
Racketball B - Leagues 5 - 10

Entries will be ordered into a rough standard and split equally between courts, with the aim of keeping similar players together. Each player will play all the other players in a set order in their grade in a single game to 11 (or 15 depending on the numbers in each grade). Results will be recorded in league structure and total points will win. We may allocate 1-point handicap for each difference in league position within the grades to try and keep the competition close.

It would be helpful if those wishing to play can indicate in advance, with their approximate league position, but we will be able to handle some entries on the day (if you are unable to commit in advance) as final names to grades can be finalised just before the start of play.

Please email Richard Carr richardj.carr@hotmail.co.uk and cc Gill Trimmer philtrimmer@btinternet.com if you want to be included.

Entry fee of £3 will be collected on the night, and we would ask all players to arrive close to 6pm so that the first matches can be played promptly. We can handle a few last arrivals, up to say 6.30pm, so please advise if this applies to you.

Claire's Pizza Kitchen will also be open on the night - please place your order on arrival.

Looking forward to seeing you on 23rd!

Richard and Gill
