Wednesday evening women’s squash training
Numbers still rise and fall a bit, but there were a fantastic 7 participants last week - let’s see if we can sustain that level of involvement!
If you’re not in the group’s WhatsApp link, message Grace on 07809 647554. All abilities are welcome!
Thursday lunchtime (mixed) racketball training
So far this has mostly been a blokes thing, but everyone is welcome and Adam has rackets if needed.
Team matches and other competition
Our Herts Ladies team is underway!
Lily, Kimi and Cassie went up again a very strong and match-seasoned Tring team in the opening fixture, but they had a great evening and I am so pleased that the Berkhamsted Ladies Squash Team now rides again after a break of about 10 years!
For World Squash Day on 9th October we held a graded round-robin event (albeit on 8th October!) and it was great that we had Natalie, Lily, Chloe and Katie involved, with Chloe winning her group and Natalie finishing runner-up in hers!
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it - we’ll definitely do another one soon, and let’s see if we can get even more of you joining in next time.
Next weekend, Natalie and Lily are off to Nottingham to compete in the England Junior Championships - we wish them the best of luck!
And, finally, congratulations to our fantastic coach, Grace. Last month, seeded 8, Grace got to the final of the Scottish Open and, as a result, has risen to her best World ranking of 85 and is closing on the points level of a number of those just ahead of her. This week, she’s competing in the Gibraltar Open where she’s the 4th seed. Good luck Grace!
That’s all for now, regards and hit those nicks!
