We will have both a women’s and a men’s event. Entries to the draws close tomorrow, but it’s already looking like at least half of the players will be ranked in the world top 100, including one of our club coaches, Grace, and half a dozen others from the squad who train at our club on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Ticket sales are now open! Exclusively to our club members for the next week.
Please email John Shaw to get your tickets: john.gs@btinternet.com
Matches will be on courts 1 and 2 and the likely match schedule is:

The tickets will be ‘roaming’, allowing you to watch whichever match/court takes your fancy.
Prices are £15 per ticket per day for adults, £5 for juniors. Buy 2 get 1 free! Payments will be taken by Susannah and Vicky in the Club Office.
Don’t miss out, book early, you know it makes sense!
The bar will be open and food will be available - we’ll have your evening meal covered for you!
We will be holding a raffle during the event. We already have some great prizes but we could always do with some more! If you are able to help, it would be much appreciated. A percentage of the raffle proceeds will be donated to Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) and to the Hospice of St Francis, in memory of former club members Harry Faulkner and John Cheshire.
John Cheshire Doubles
On the Sunday of the pro event, before the finals, we’re going to be running the annual doubles round-robin, in commemoration of John Cheshire.
John was a much-loved member of the club for many years who passed away in 2017. The event gives us a chance to raise some money in John’s name for the hospice of St Francis, who helped with the care and treatment of his illness. As mentioned above, we will be donating a percentage of the tournament raffle ticket sales to the hospice.
The focus of the event will be very much on fun and we will partner people up on the day according to standard on a ‘lucky dip’ basis. Players will be split into groups roughly according to ability, with steam made up of a player from each group picked at random - if all goes well this gives all teams an equal change of overall victory.
Please email us if you would like to play. Go on, play some squash, have a pie and a pint, and then see some of the best live squash that we’ve ever had in the area! |
